November 8, 1958 –  January 23, 2013  Former Gainesville resident, Clarence “Mott” Johnson passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at his home in Abilene. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 28th at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel with Rev. Frank Lorne, Pastor of Corinth Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Clarence was born November 8, 1958 in Gainesville, Texas. He was a Gainesville High School graduate. Mr. Johnson was formerly employed by Borden Chemical and Golden Corral. He loved to sing.

Survivors of Clarence Johnson include his mother, Gwen Johnson of Gainesville; father, Clarence M. Johnson of Los Angeles; brothers, Thomas Johnson of Los Angeles, Richard Johnson of Callisburg and Marshall Johnson of California; special aunt, Doris Mims of Gainesville and several nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Johnson.
