Chyrel Ann Whittington, 74, of Thackerville, Oklahoma, was called to her eternal home on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

Chyrel was born on January 1, 1951 in Whitesboro, Texas to Horace and Gladys, (Huffaker) Melton.  She attended school in Whitesboro and worked for Bomber Bait in Gainesville.  On April 7, 1997 she married Edward Whittington in Woodbine.  Chyrel enjoyed crafts, fishing, playing bingo, going to the casinos, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved and adored.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Whittington, daughter, Barbara Lowry and husband, James; daughter, Christi Marion and husband, Cameron Sanders, grandchildren, Ashley Hoedebeck and husband, Chisam, Courtney Campbell, Hayley Marion, Maranda Swta, and Coby Marion, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, stepson, Michael Whittington and wife, Diane, stepdaughter, Vickie Gamble and husband, Lee,  stepdaughter, Ann Marie Good and husband, Frank, five step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Chyrel was preceded in death by her parents, Horace (Slim) and Gladys Melton, brother, Jerry Paul Melton, brother, Ronald Melton, brother, Michael Melton, brother, Larry Melton, and sister, Robbie Wilson.

A memorial gathering honoring Chyrel will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
