August 1, 1978 –  April 8, 2017  Christopher Aaron Gist, 38, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born August 1, 1978, the son of Linda Dennis and Jere Gist in Dallas, Texas. Christopher loved Jesus. Children and the elderly held a special place in his heart. He volunteered for hospice, senior citizens at St. John’s and the food pantry of Fayette County. He enjoyed studying the weather. Chris had a love for animals, especially cats.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14th at First Baptist Church in Gainesville with church pastor, Dr. Jeff Langley officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Crown Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Gainesville. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include his mother, Linda Dennis of Gainesville; father, Jere Gist of Missouri; sisters, Jennifer Hill of Dallas, Heather Rea of Litchfield Park, Arizona and Melody Thomas of Palmer; grandmother, Lydia Dennis of Fayetteville, Texas and uncles, Bob Dennis of Yuma, Arizona, John Dennis of Fayetteville, Texas and Billy Ed Horrocks. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Lee Dennis.
