March 25, 1943 –  February 1, 2009  HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS-Funeral services for Charles William Melton, 65, will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas, with Al Camp officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. There will not be a formal visitation.
Charles passed away at the St. Josephs Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas on February 1, 2009.

He was born on March 25, 1943 in Corsicana, Texas to James E. and Imogene (Short) Melton. He married Ethel Nicki Weston in Monahans, Texas in 1962. Charles was a automotive dealer and an outdoor enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Nicki Melton of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a son, David William Melton and wife Becky of New Boston, Texas; two daughters, Dona Melton McDowell and husband Kirby of Arlington, Texas and Debra Melton McCarroll and husband Brad of Valley View, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Michelle Nowlin of Denver, Colorado, Rebekah McCarroll and Joshua McCarroll of Valley View, Texas, Audrey Melton, Tyner Melton and Wiley Melton of New Boston, Texas.

Pallbearers are John David Melton, Jaral Meadows, Jeff Lanier, Kirby McDowell, Brad McCarroll and Shaun Thomas.

Honorary Pallbearers are Rodney Short and John Short.
