January 26, 1939 –  July 23, 2007  WHITESBORO â?? Funeral services for Calvin L. â??Calâ? Aday, 68, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney and Hank Lovejoy officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the funeral home.
Cal passed away on Monday, July 23, 2007 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.

Cal was born on January 26, 1939 in Denton, Texas to John L. and Nell (Reynolds) Aday. He married Dolores Scott on April 29, 1956 in Saint Jo, Texas. Dolores preceded him in death on December 11, 1995. Cal served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict as an E-7 Chief Petty Officer, retiring after 21 ½ years of service. Cal also worked in air conditioning repair. He later married Virginia Lovejoy on March 28, 1997 in Whitesboro, Texas. Cal loved deer hunting and the outdoors. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Whitesboro and served on the welcoming committee.

Cal is survived by his wife, Virginia Aday of Whitesboro; mother, Nell Morrow of Denton; a daughter, Phyllis Kay Taylor and companion Mike Pecora of Denton; four sons, Rex Dutton of Whitesboro, Darrin Dutton and wife Diane of Whitesboro, Lance Dutton and wife Carolyn of Washington State and Joseph Melugin and wife Dee of Buchanan Dam, Texas; four sisters, Imogene Kaiser of Carrollton, Betty Jo Thompson of Richardson, Evelyn Brewer of Denton and Shirley Kyle of McKinney; a brother, James Aday of Coppell; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Aday.

Pallbearers are: Chris Lovejoy, Charles Hilliard, Pat Autry, Jerad Dutton, Stanley Welch and Ray Gann.
