April 5, 1924 – June 8, 2012 Funeral Services for Billie Jo Cannon, 88, of Gainesville will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 11th at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel with Rev. Hubert Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Sean Cannon, Jason Cannon, Mark Cannon, Chad Cannon, Eric Duke and Hank Jones will serve as pallbearers. Charles Swigart and Bobby Harrison will be honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be 5:00 รข?? 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Cannon passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at North Texas Medical Center.
Billie Jo was born April 5, 1924 in Collinsville, Texas to George W. and Katie Mae (Craft) Fuson. She was baptized at the age of fourteen at Collinsville Baptist Church. August 19, 1941 she married Billy Joe Cannon. She began her nursing career in 1954 at the Gainesville Sanitarium and later at Gainesville Memorial Hospital. She was employed for twenty-five-plus years as the Activity Directory of Gainesville Convalescent Home. Mrs. Cannon was of the Baptist faith,
Survivors of Billie Jo Cannon include sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Wayne Cannon of Gainesville, Larry Cannon and Carol Smith of Tyler, Roger Cannon of Gainesville and George and Carol Cannon of Gainesville; daughter, Marrietta Duke of Gainesville; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Shirley Taylor; granddaughter, Samantha Ramsey and daughter-in-law, Heidi Cannon.
