September 28, 1930 –  May 12, 2017  Funeral Services for Betty Jean Biggers, 86 of Whitesboro, Texas will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro with Rev. Adam Spore officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Betty passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital, Sherman, Texas. There is no formal visitation planned. Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, Texas is in charge of arrangements.She was born to Orus Ross and Minnie Jewel (Davis) Van Zandt on September 28, 1930 in Tioga, Texas. She married Kenneth Harris Biggers on September 4, 1948 in Whitesboro, Texas. Kenneth and Betty were married for over 66 years before his passing in October of 2015. Betty was an accountant and housewife. She loved to garden, sew and cook.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Martha Jean Keith of Houston, Margaret Anne Ives and husband, Rick of Allen and Marilyn Elizabeth Biggers of Whitesboro; former son-in-law, Jim Casey of McKinney; 4 grandchildren, Christopher Delay, Brad Casey, Alyson Casey, Amelia Casey; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Jeremiah Delay and great-great grandchild, D. J. Burden, as well as her Golden Retriever and faithful friend, Mandy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orus and Minnie Van Zandt; husband, Kenneth Biggers; 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
