Whitesboro – Funeral Services for Betty Gaddie, 87, of Whitesboro will be held at 2:00p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro with Mike Bentley officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. There will be a visitation held 1:00p.m.,one hour prior to services on Thursday.Betty passed away quietly on June 9, 2018 in Denton, Texas.
She was born on March 18, 1931 in Ethel, Texas to John Clifton and Velma (Horne) Vannoy. She married Grady Gaddie in Whitesboro on December 23, 1949 and they were married for 63 years prior to his passing. She worked for Security Bank and retired from there after many years. She loved gardening, bird watching, and spending time doing needlepoint. She was a faithful member of the North Union Street Church of Christ of Whitesboro. Betty was the kindest, gentlest, most sweet and loving woman, the true meaning of the word lady.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Thompson and husband, Ray of Katy, granddaughter, Laura Thompson of Houston, brother, CJ Vannoy of Whitesboro, sister, Sandra Cheatham and husband, Jerry of Denton as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Velma Vannoy, husband, Grady Gaddie, brother, James Edward Vannoy and Infant daughter, Tina Gaddie.
