April 19, 1926 –  February 22, 2015  WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Bessie Cleo Cravens, 88, will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., in the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow the services at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation services will be held prior to the funeral at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.She died at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas on February 22, 2015.
Bessie was born on April 19, 1926 to William and Julia (Sims) Loyd in Henrietta, Texas. She was the wife of Lonnie W. Cravens. She was a longtime member of D Street Church of Christ in Whitesboro. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking. She enjoyed gathering around her table for coffee. She was “mamaw” to everybody.
She is survived by her daughters: Joyce Simmons of Whitesboro; and Lonnette Davidson, and husband, Jon, of Collinsville; grandchildren: Randy Smith, Debbie Brule, Mark Simmons, Bubba Simmons, Vicki Watson, Kendall Bagwell, Karen Carson, Shaunda Perry, Dedra Turner, Diane Willeford, Derek Cravens, and Dena Cravens; as well as numerous, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie W. Cravens; daughter, Alice Smith; son, Weldon Cravens; grandson, Rusty Smith; great-grandson, Hunter Perry; parents: William and Julia Loyd; and sisters: Margaret Brookshire and Jane Gibson.
Members of her family will serve as the pallbearers.
