May 28, 1930 –  June 30, 2011  Funeral services for Gene Beavers, 81, of Gainesville, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2nd at Clement-Keel Chapel with Rev. Bill Black, Pastor of Grand Avenue Baptist church officiating. Dustin Hughes, Richard Hughes, Allen Davis, Butch Matthews, Sonny Barthold and Marion Davidson will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at New Rest Haven Cemetery. Mr. Beavers died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas.
Gene Beavers, was born May 28, 1930 in Thackerville, Oklahoma to William Lester and Elva M. (Lee) Beavers. He was a truck driver in the oilfield before retiring and was of the Baptist faith. He loved golf, playing with his dog and telling stories to his family and friends.

Survivors of Mr. Beavers are his wife, Janet Beavers of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Debra Beavers of Gainesville; step-son Kelly LeFevre and his wife JoAnn of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Kanita and Mack Maxwell of Gainesville; one half-sister and several half-brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents.
