July 19, 1941 –  December 8, 2016  Funeral Services for Barbara Lynn Evans, 75, of Collinsville, Texas, will be held Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Craig Ayers officiating. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Barbara passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at The Homestead in Collinsville, Texas with her family by her side.She was born to James Harold and Alma Ruth (Sturdy) Simpson on July 19, 1941 in Collinsville, Texas. She married Bernie Evans who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Collinsville. She loved flower gardening and enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. Barbara was compassionate and loved visiting and taking care of others.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Ayers, Michael Palmertree, Jared Pitre, Hunter Reedle, Jeremy McKay and David Umsted.
She is survived by her son, Craig Ayers and his wife, Carrie of Baytown, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Brewer of San Antonio, Texas and siblings, Vickie Farrell and husband, Marion of Collinsville, Rebecca Enderby and husband, Carroll of Collinsville, Cathy Burns and spouse, Grace Ann McKay of Denton, Pat Wade and husband, Mike of Lancaster, Mike Burns and wife, Kim of Paris, Texas and Dale Simpson and wife, Fran of Azle, Texas; grandchildren, Amanda Pitre and husband, Jared, Michael Palmertree and Christopher Ayers and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Simpson and Alma Ruth Burns and husband, Bernie Evans.
