Barbara “Diane” Horner, 71 , of Lindsay, TX, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2023.

Diane was born on November 8, 1951 to John Henry and Mary Louise Ham in Creston, North Carolina.

While in high school at Ashe County in Warrenville, NC. She lost her father in a tragic accident.  Something that she and her siblings would band together to get through.  Some of her sisters’ most fond memories are when Diane would treat them with a shopping trip for an outfit every payday at Belks.  During high school she also met her future husband James “Jim” Horner.  He was in the Marines and stationed at Quantico, Virginia.  They later married in 1975 and moved to Texas.

They lived in Gainesville while Diane worked at Webber Aircraft while Jim worked offshore as an oilman. She wanted nothing more than to be a mother and she and Jim welcomed their son Chris into the world in March of 1985. They built their dream home 1994 in Lindsay, something she and Jim were very proud of. She was a doting mother and attended all of Chris’s games and meets.  When Ava and Jaelyn were born she couldn’t have been more proud.

Diane was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Shane Horner, husband, Jim Horner, parents, John and Louise Ham, brother Archie Ham, and sister Betty Sue Ham.  She is survived by her sister, Kathy and brother in law, Gale Wyatt, granddaughters Ava and Jaelyn Horner, great granddaughter Kai Magnolia Horner-Woods, and a number of loving brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends and family.

Family Viewing will be held at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California St., Gainesville on Wednesday, February 15th at 1pm, service at 2pm, then graveside at Saint Peters Catholic Cemetery, Lindsay, Texas to immediately follow.
