June 14, 1941 –  May 10, 2012  BARBARA DELORIS JARVISBarbara Deloris Jarvis, 70, of Whitesboro, TX, went peacefully in her home on May 10, 2012. A family visitation will be held Monday, May 14, 2012, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home, 401 Hwy 377 N., Whitesboro, TX. A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Mabe.
Barbara was born on June 14, 1941 to Otis Leon and Audrey Scarbrough in Stuart, OK. She married Jackson (Jack) Jefferson Jarvis on June 1, 1956 in Center, TX. Married 35 years, they raised five children.
She is survived by sons: Jackson Jefferson Jarvis, Jr. and wife, Bobbie, of Eastland, TX; Joseph Johnson Jarvis and wife, Emily of Cumby, TX; daughters: Jill Jarvis Brown and husband, Rodney, of Callisburg, TX; Jennifer Jarvis Ishmael and husband, Marvin, of Tioga, TX; and Shelley Melinda Lowder of Gainesville, TX; a sister, Donna Davis and husband, Charles, of Anna, TX; and a brother, Ron Scarbrough and wife, Debra, of McAlester, OK. Grandchildren: Jeremiah Johnson Jarvis, Virginia Leigh Butler, Jackson Jefferson Jarvis III, Jordan Thomas Jarvis, Johnny Mack Jarvis, Glenn Leon Jarvis, Bailey Rebecca Brown, Ashley Erin Achimon, Nathan Wayne Ishmael, Evan Shade Ishmael, James Austin Jarvis, Hannah Faith Jarvis, Joseph Aiden Jarvis, Zachary and Adam Lowder; seven great-grandchildren; three nieces; and cherished companion, Russell Perkins of Whitesboro, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Jarvis; her father Otis Scarbrough, a brother, Doyle Scarbrough, a sister, Rita Scarbrough; and her grandmother, Melinda Keller.
Barbara, â??Motherâ?, â??Memeâ?, and â??Sisterâ? was a devoted mother and grandmother who lived for her family. She was always the one to call for help, support, or advice in times of need. She was accomplished at many things including painting, quilting, genealogy, or anything she put her mind to. Barbara was proud to say she was saved when she was 9 years old. She valiantly fought until the end, not wanting to leave her family behind. She will be greatly loved and missed.
