August 5, 1923 –  June 16, 2017  Anthony Galisky (Tony), age 93, peacefully passed away at Saddlebrook Memory Care home in Frisco, Texas on June 16, 2017. Tony was strong to the end as he loved life and always gave his all. Tony was born in the Ukraine, immigrated to Mexico where he lived until age 12, then to the United States where he permanently resided. Though he and his family endured many hardships through these journeys, they prospered because of hard work and determination. The Catholic faith was always important to Tony. He attended St. Mary’s elementary school; from there, he attended seminary with the intent to become a priest. He subsequently decided to join the military and proudly served in the military police department of the U.S. Army for five years. Tony was sharp, outgoing, and had a great business sense. He created a prosperous real estate company which thrived for over 30 years. Tony and his wife Jan moved to Joshua Tree in 1990 to build their dream home. Tony loved the desert nature and enjoyed many years there with family and friends. Tony was filled with a generous spirit of love and kindness toward others. He was quick-witted with a keen sense of humor and enduring optimism. All who met Tony were captured by his wonderful personality, and he will be greatly missed! Tony is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janet Galisky; sons Larry Galisky and Charles Galisky; daughter Antoinette Galisky; grandsons Jeff Galisky, David Galisky, and Chad Galisky; great-grandson Evan Galisky; sister Helen O’Connell; brother Al Galisky; stepdaughters Paula Sweat, Patty Stokx, and Peggy Knodel; and grand-stepdaughters Jennifer and Jeannie Stokx.
