September 17, 1933 –  July 9, 2009  WHITESBORO â?? Funeral Services for Anna Ruth Deason, 75, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Joe Kite officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009 at the funeral home.
Anna passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at her daughterâ??s residence in Sherman.

She was born on Sept. 17, 1933 in Hope, Arkansas to Grady Handley and Ruby (Porterfield) Handley. Anna married Dempsey E. Deason, Jr. on Aug. 6, 1954. She worked at the Childrenâ??s Tree Daycare Center in Whitesboro and was a Baptist.

Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Burt and husband, David of Sherman, 4 grandchildren, Kyle Deason of Splendora, Michael Deason of Splendora, Candace Simmons of Sherman and Cody Simmons of Sherman, a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Simmons of Sherman, a daughter-in-law, Sheila Deason of Splendora, a sister, Nelda Haire and husband, Donal of Lone Star, 2 brothers, Cecil Handley and wife, Shirley of Enid, Oklahoma and Charles D. Handley and wife Faye of Whitesboro, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Ruby Handley, a son, Eddie Deason, her husband, Dempsey Deason and a sister, Genell Cross.
