Angela M. Dutton, former WISD teacher and 35-year resident of Whitesboro, passed away Monday, February 21, following a long illness.

Mrs. Dutton was born in Norwich, England, and was the only child of George and Jean Seaton. Mr. Seaton, being a military man, moved his family all over the world and enrolled his only daughter in several boarding schools where she experienced a classical education. She met and married her husband, Loyd Dutton, a Whitesboro native, while working in Scotland, for an oil business. Angela and Loyd also traveled the world, living in many Middle Eastern and African countries, offering a variety of experiences for their two sons.

In 1987, the Dutton family returned to the United States and settled in Whitesboro. Their sons attended Whitesboro Schools and Texas A & M. Angela was a classroom teacher for the Whitesboro district for 22 years and was involved in several community organizations, such a Band Boosters, PEO Sisterhood, West Grayson Retired School Personnel Association,Boy Scouts, and the First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Dutton was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, eldest son, Allen Dutton, and sister-in-law, Doris Gorrell.

She is survived by son, Mark Dutton and wife, Heather, and 2 grandsons, Jack and Eli, two sisters-in -law, Wanda Dutton and Linda Cundiff (husband, Audie), and a brother-in -law, Lester Dutton, a host of nieces and nephews, as well as “special sons” Tony Garcia and Johnathan Smith.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 5, at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the First United Methodist Church, 122 So. Union Street, or Your Neighbor’s House, 201 So. Union, Whitesboro, Texas.
