March 7, 1917 –  November 27, 2009  WHITESBORO â?? Funeral Services for Aletha Murry Bryan, 92, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Friends may express their personal condolence at any time at the home of Gene and Connie Bryan, 2408 Jolinda, Whitesboro, TX 76273.
Aletha passed away on Friday, Nov. 27, 2009 at her home in Whitesboro.

She was born on March 7, 1917 in Saint Jo to Lemiuel Gilson â??Gilseâ? Murry and Zora (Redman) â??Big Mamaâ? Murry. Aletha attended school in Saint Jo, Muenster, and Sadler and graduated from Whitesboro High School. She married Carl Eugene Bryan on Aug. 1, 1935. Carl preceded her in death in 1997. She owned and operated the Aletha Bryan Insurance Agency in Whitesboro from 1953 to 2009. Aletha was a 50 year member of the Order of the Easter Star and was also a member of the Modern Arts Club. She was a long standing member of the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro.

Survivors include a son, Gene Bryan and wife, Connie of Whitesboro; 4 grandchildren, Wynell Ramsey and husband, Redgy of Whitesboro, Cary Bryan and wife, Sharon of Whitesboro, Robert Raub of Lewisville, and Randyn Raub of Pottsboro; 11 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Mike Whitten, Mike Allred, Gene Young, Randy Sanders, Ronnie Raney, and Mike Case.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to the Whitesboro Public Library, 308 W. Main St., Whitesboro, TX 76273.
