April 17, 1922 –  April 22, 2010  Funeral Services for Alden E. Dove, 88, will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, April 26, 2010 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Jerry Davis and Tar Henderson officiating. Visitation will be from 2 until 3 P.M. on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the funeral home.Alden passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, Texas.
He was born on April 17, 1922 in Cooke County to Edd H. and Ritta (Porter) Dove. Alden served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as a truck driver. Alden married Kathleen Heffley on January 11, 1940 Alden and Kathleen had two sons, Darnell Dove and wife, Judy of Bedford, Texas and Johnny Dove and wife, Martine of Collinsville, Texas and a daughter, Lana Henderson and husband, Gene of Collinsville, Texas. They had five grandchildren, Jeana Fraser of Humble, Texas, Karen Terry of Hurst, Texas, Dawna Michalke of Sealy, Texas, Tar Henderson of Gila, New Mexico and Shannon Middleton of Hewitt, Texas; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Later, Alden married Cleta Conway. Cleta had two daughters, Melda McCann, and husband, Greg and Karen Malinowsky and husband, Eddie. Cleta had four grandchildren, Lendsy Stephens, Kacey Burnlee, Ashlee Russ, and Brent Malinowsky, and seven great-grandchildren.
Alden loved to garden, and loved sharing with ALL the neighbors; he grew the best cantaloupes. He loved to work on his farm and with his cattle. Alden loved spending time with his family, cooking, and eating- especially ice cream. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cleta; his parents, Edd and Ritta Dove; and two sisters, Merle Ryman and Stella Mae Russell.
Pallbearers are Rick Hendricks, Joey Glenn, David Fraser, Scott Terry, Greg Middleton, and Brent Malinowsky. Honorary pallbearers are Claudell Malone, Lewis Cox, John Cox, and Boyd Conaway.
