October 13, 1934 –  August 16, 2012  Woodrow Melton “Curly” Kirk, 77, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at his residence in Gainesville.
Woodrow was born October 13, 1934 in Rosston, Texas to Woodrow and Birdie (Roper) Kirk. He was an operator for Mercer Oil Service for thirty-six years before retiring. Curly served in the National Guard and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 20th at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Luke Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Priddy, Jesse Gonzales, Albert Arenas, Steven Arenas, Jonathan Gonzales and Brian Kirk. Michael Thomas Kirk, Cody Kirk, Benjamin Gonzales and Joshua Michael Kirk will serve as honorary bearers. Visitation will be Monday morning, 9:30 until service time. Services are under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Survivors of Woodrow Kirk include his wife of fifty-two years, Imogene Kirk of Gainesville; son, Michael Kirk of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Jack York of Longview, Vickie and Robert Priddy of Va lliant, OK, Jerri Kirk of Gainesville, Melinda and Ben Gonzales of Gainesville, Wendy Kirk and Fernando Arenas of Gainesville and Kristi Kirk of Gainesville; nineteen grandchildren and thirty-nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmy Kirk; sister, Bernice Kirk and grandchild, Bobby Lee Priddy.
