September 14, 1928 –  March 25, 2014  Funeral services for Wayne Stanley, Jr. 85, of Ardmore (formerly of Gainesville), will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 31st, at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel with Rev. Mark Lunden officiating. Terry Cassidy, Allen Cassidy, Dauson Cassidy, Ken Smith, Chris King and Zack McGill will serve as pallbearers and Trent Stewart will be an honorary pallbearer. Burial will follow in New Rest Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Stanley passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Wayne was born in Callisburg, Texas September 14, 1928 to Wayne R. and Pearl I. (Hall) Stanley . He married Jaquetta McDaniel August 3, 1950 in Custer City. Mr. Stanley was a Master Sergeant in the U. S. Army, retiring after over twenty-four years of service. His overseas duty stations included Korea, Indo-China and Vietnam. Medals earned were the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal with Silver Clasp, Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Mr. Stanley is survived daughters, Irene Stewart and husband, Leon of Gainesville, Brenda Cassidy and husband, Terry of Gainesville, Jessie Dillard of Gainesville and Shirley Stanley of Denton; sister, Charlene Neal of Alice; grandchildren, Shelby Stewart, Trent Stewart, Tara King, Allen Cassidy, Dana Cassidy, Ryan Burkhart, Samantha Speck and Shauna Smart; twelve great-grandchildren and one-great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jaquetta Stanley; parents, Wayne and Pearl Stanley and sister, Joyce Interwitz. http://videos.lifetributes.com/478439
