August 14, 1933 –  February 3, 2007  COLLINSVILLE â?? Funeral services for Virginia â??Bunkeyâ? Carney will be at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Collinsville with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating, directed by Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Interment will follow in the Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, February 5, 2007 at the funeral home.
Bunkey passed away Saturday, February 3, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones.

She was born on August 14, 1933 in Collinsville to Hallie Ray and Winnie G. (Harris) Overturff. She married C. J. Carney on October 27, 1951 in Tioga. â??Bunkeyâ? was a member of the Eastern Star in Collinsville and was the Past Worthy Matron. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville. â??Bunkeyâ? worked 40 years as a beautician in Collinsville. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

â??Bunkeyâ? is survived by her husband, C.J. Carney of Collinsville; a son, Gary Carney; a daughter, Patty Mitchell of Collinsville; a sister, Norma Gunter of Woodbine; a brother, Howard â??Butchâ? Ray of Denton; three grandchildren, Shane Mitchell of Sadler, Shanna Reynolds and husband Chase of Collinsville and Sheryl Mitchell of Collinsville; two great â?? grandchildren, Kyle Belz of Collinsville and C. J. Reynolds of Collinsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers are: Ronny Carney, Roger Kerr, Curtis Fails, Grady Fails, Roy Blair and Royce Melton.
