April 22, 1926 –  December 13, 2017  Gainesville resident, Virginia Barnett Partain Metcalf, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center at the age of ninety-one. She was born April 22, 1926 in Whitesboro, Texas, the daughter of Johnny Raymond and Hazel Louise (Clark) Barnett. Virginia was a homemaker and a Camp Fire Leader and Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a member of Spring Grove Church of Christ and Hillcrest Church of Christ.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 15th at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Hart, Daren Hutcherson, Johnny Barnett, Tommy McNamara, Jr., Chris McNamara and Mark Partain. Family visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Survivors include sons, Larry Partain and wife, Donna of Gainesville and Jerry Partain of Grand Prairie; daughter, Regina Partain McNamara and husband, Tom of Gainesville; brother, Johnny Barnett and wife, Cookie of Sherman; seven grandchildren, Lori Hart, Kari Hutcherson, Laura Partain Roberts, Mark Partain, Bryan Partain, Tommy McNamara, Jr. and Chris NcNamara; eighteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; Johnny and Hazel Barnett, two husbands, William Cleaburn Partain and Raymond Metcalf and a sister, Jaunema Jo Armstrong.
