October 16, 1984 –  February 29, 2016  Funeral Services for Tommy Lee Garland, 31, of Whitesboro, Texas, will be held Friday, March 4, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 3rd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He passed away Monday, February 29, 2016, in Lott, Texas, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born to Gregory Scott Garland and Kyong Suk (Lee) Picard on October 16, 1984, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion, Lake Dallas Post 88 and was of the Baptist faith. He worked in the oilfield as a truck driver and loved fishing and collecting and shooting guns. He loved to eat at expensive restaurants and enjoyed dressing nice. He adored his niece and was kind and generous and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He is survived by his parents, Greg and, Son Garland of Lake Dallas; mother, Kyong and Phillip Scott Picard of Peoria, Arizona; brother, Gary Garland and significant other, Susie Galewaler of Whitesboro; stepbrother, Phillip Picard of Columbus, Georgia; grandmother, Ching Sun Yea of Korea; niece, Kammarie Garland of Whitesboro and uncle, Whow Lee of Korea, and many others that called him family along the way, especially the family of Abel Garcia, one of his closest friends.
