June 9, 1920 –  August 8, 2006  Thomas William Riddle, 86, of Whitesboro, died Tuesday, August 8, 2006. He was born in Delaware Bend, Texas, June 9, 1920, the son of Louis and Susie Sikes Riddle. He married Della Virginia Sissney on July 23, 1942, in Sulphur, OK. A World War II Army veteran, he served in the Pacific Theater and later worked in the oil fields of Texas and Oklahoma, afterwards working at Line Material Industries in Sherman and retiring from Hitchcock Industries in Denison. Thomas was a member of the Whitesboro Masonic Lodge # 263 A.F. & A.M. He is survived by two sons: Wesley (Sonny) Riddle and Linda Dalton of Whitesboro; W. Doni Riddle and wife Tammy of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; one daughter: Tommie Ruth (T.R.) Fletcher and husband Mark of Whitesboro; two brothers: Ben Riddle of Whitesboro and Lee Riddle of Sherman; five sisters: Evelyn Martin and husband Hugh of Ratliff, Arkansas; Gladys Brooks of Sherman; Lois Gotcher and husband John W. of Sherman; Edna Didonna of Sacramento, California; and Julia Knox and husband Alvin of Grand Prairie, Texas; eight grandchildren: Brian Riddle, Kevin Riddle, Kelly McCullough, Stacy Sanders Wrenn and husband Cory, Jon Sanders and wife Mandy, Corey Fletcher and wife Nicole, Erin Riddle and Alyssa Riddle; thirteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Della V, his parents, and grandson-in-law Jon McCullough.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Brian Riddle, Kevin Riddle, Jon Sanders, Corey Fletcher, and Cory Wrenn, along with Kim Cunningham, Terry Bilbrey, and nephew Vick Gotcher. Honorary pallbearers are members of Whitesboro Masonic Lodge #263 A.F. & A.M.
Services will be Friday, August 11, at 10:00 AM at Meador Funeral Home, 401 Hwy. 377,Whitesboro, conducted by Reverend Mike Flanagan of First Baptist Church,Whitesboro, assisted by Harold Watson, Pastor Emeritus of First Baptist Church, Whitesboro and followed by Masonic graveside services at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Family visitation will be Thursday, August 10, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Mark and T. R. Fletcher at 20349 U. S. Hwy 377, Whitesboro.
