Whitesboro – Funeral services for Shirley El’Doris Hayes, 89, of Whitesboro will be held AT 3:30 PM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Old Church Restored in Whitesboro, officiated by Pastor Mike Hayes. Interment to follow at Haven Oaks Family Cemetery in Whitesboro. A time of visitation will be held for friends and family on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.Shirley passed from this life and into her eternal life on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in Frisco, Texas.

She was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 28, 1929 to Harold and Henrietta (Kidd) Weatherman. After graduating from Barrett High School in Columbus, Ohio she married the love of her life Jimmy Berdett Hayes on May 2, 1948 and together they began a beautiful life-long adventure. They were together for 65 years of marriage until his passing in 2013. They founded a church in Flagstaff, Arizona, with an emphasis on ministering to Native Americans. Shirley was a loyal and loving pastor’s wife of 60 plus years, going and serving wherever the Lord lead them. She loved reading, traveling, gardening and bird watching. She was an accomplished artist specializing in watercolors. Shirley had many talents and abilities; her greatest, was the love and care of her family and grandchildren. Together she and Jimmy leave behind an amazing legacy in their family, all of which have followed their footsteps into the ministry.

Shirley is survived by her son, Stephen Michael Hayes and wife, Kathy of Frisco, daughter, Jennifer Lynn Hayes of Whitesboro, daughter, Joy Marie Driver and husband, Jeff of East, Tennessee, grandchildren, Monte A. Chaney, Bric L. Chaney, Amie Dockery, Stephen Hayes II, ten great-grandchildren, brother, Donald Weatherman as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Henrietta Weatherman, husband, Jimmy Berdett Hayes, sister, Norma Jean White and brother, Harold (Sonny) Weatherman.

Pallbearers will be, Bill Perry, Monte Chaney, Bric Chaney, Grayson Dockery, Stacen Dockery, and Stacey Dockery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stephen Hayes II and Jeff Driver.
