October 2, 1918 –  December 8, 2016  Funeral Services for Rupert Wilson “Pinky” Pinkston, 98, of Gordonville, Texas, will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Gordonville, Texas with Rev. James Rafferty officiating. Interment will follow at Gordonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, Whitesboro, Texas. He passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at his home in Sadler, Texas with his loving family by his side.He was born to Arthur and Tommie (Winstead) Pinkston on October 2, 1918 in Dresden, Tennessee. He married Charlene Fryar in July of 1962. He worked for Lockheed Aircraft during World War II building airplanes and then served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a founding member of Theatre Equipment Association having owned a Theatre Supply Business. He was also a member of IATSE Local Union #249. Pinky was a sixty-five year member of Masonic Lodge #536 AF&AM of Gordonville, Texas and was a Deacon at First Baptist Church, Gordonville. He enjoyed gardening, farming and raising cattle. He was a huge football fan and enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his 2 sons; Bobby Pinkston and wife, Nancy of Sadler, Texas and Jimmy Pinkston of Edgewood, Texas; granddaughter, Jennifer Pinkston Dilmore and great-grandson, Adam Dilmore and 3 nieces, as well as a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Tommie Pinkston; wife, Charlene Pinkston; brother, M. L. Pinkston and 2 sisters, Lena Mae Cannady and Ruby Pinkston.
