July 29, 1939 –  March 10, 2007  WHITESBORO – Graveside services for Ruby â??Laverneâ? Phillips, age 67, will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at the Dixie Cemetery with Rick Carney officiating, directed by Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Visitation will be Monday, March 12, 2007 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Meador Funeral Home.
Ruby Phillips passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Texoma Health Care Center in Sherman.

â??Laverneâ?, as her friends and family called her so lovingly, was born on July 29, 1939 to Ervin Dee Tazewell and Winnie Marie Adams in Whitesboro, Texas. She married Benjamin Houston Phillips in July of 1957. Most of her life was spent here in Whitesboro, being a homemaker, a loving wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Laverne is survived by her husband Benny Phillips of Whitesboro, three daughters, Belinda Diane Giles and husband Charlie of South Padra, Deborah Gail Bockman of Denison and Terry Lynn Yoesting and husband Sean, of Allen, Texas, also one son, Ben Phillips of Springfield, Missouri and one sister Nora Bella Lemons, and five grandchildren, Natasha Moser, Chris Bockman, Ian Yoesting, Cora Yoesting, Calvin Phillips and a great grandson, Logan Bockman.

She was preceded in death by a sister Ludy Filbeck and a brother Paul Tazewell, her parents, Ervin Dee and Winnie Marie Tazewell, and her grandmother, Cora Belle Adams.
