May 23, 1926 – March 19, 2009 WHITESBORO รข?? Funeral Services for Rev. Roscoe Welborn Grimes, 82, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church in Whitesboro with Rev. Allen Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Dixie Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009 at the funeral home.
Rev. Grimes passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.
He was born on May 23, 1926 in Enos, Oklahoma to Roscoe and Edna (Everitt) Grimes. Rev. Grimes served in the U.S. Navy and married Mary Jeannine Kirkpatrick on Feb. 4, 1949 in Fort Worth. He served as a pastor with the Assemblies of God for many years in Oklahoma and Texas. Rev. Grimes was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Whitesboro.
Survivors include 2 sons, Michael Grimes of Richland Hills and Johney Grimes of Whitesboro, 2 daughters, Kaiki Johnson of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and Carol Griego of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 3 brothers, L.T. Grimes of Tyler, Raymond Grimes of Fort Worth and John Grimes of Granbury, 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Edna Grimes, his wife, Mary Grimes and 3 siblings.
Pallbearers are: Isaiah Griego,
Mark Monyhan, Rex Grimes, Tyler Hussey, Mark Grimes and Adam Grimes.
Honorary pallbearer is Zack Heil.
