January 1, 1953 –  July 27, 2010  WEATHERFORD – Funeral Services for Ronny Dale Dobbs, 57, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.Ronny passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at his residence in Weatherford.
He was born on Jan. 1, 1953 in Sherman to Emmot and Willie Opal (McKnight) Dobbs. He attended school in Whitesboro and joined the Army at the age of 17. He spent 20 years in the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He retired as a Staff Sergeant.
Survivors include a son, Clinton Dobbs of Weatherford; 3 daughters, Ronni Lynn Smith and husband, Kevin of San Antonio, Brittany Williams of Maud and Meghann Taylor of Maud; 9 grandchildren; a brother, Cecil Dobbs of Whitesboro; and 2 sisters, Freda Dobbs of Whitesboro and Dorothy Ludlum of Whitesboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daryl Dobbs; 5 brothers, Billy, Robert, Joe, Kenneth and David Dobbs; and a sister, Reda Sisemore.
Pallbearers are Gary Ludlum, Larry Ludlum, Michael Dobbs and Louis Cartwright.
