July 6, 1945 –  August 3, 2017  Graveside Services for Roger Alan Heerema, 72, will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Estes Cemetery with Pastor Brad Taylor officiating. (Cemetery is located 1/4 mile east of the Lake Kiowa entrance on the same side of the road).
Mr. Heerema passed away August 3, 2017 at Texas Presbyterian in Denton. He was born July 6, 1945 in Haledon, New Jersey to Anthony and Jessie (Faber) Heerema. Roger was self employed. He gave wonderful bear hugs, had an incredible sense of humor and was a very optimistic person.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Heerema of Gainesville; children, Amy Chichester, Katie Bayley, Jason Heerema and Daniel Heerema; Grandchildren, Chaz, Corbin, Cooper, Nina, Olivia, Sera, Charlie and Coen; two brothers, John and David Heerema and Sister, Wilma Tuit. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Trudy.
