June 9, 1942 –  March 9, 2014  Services for Robert (Bob) James Goodman, 71, of Collinsville, Texas will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Ricky Patterson officiating. Mr. Goodman died Sunday, March 9, 2014 in Sherman, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Collinsville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Whitesboro, Texas. He was born June 9, 1942, to Charles Calvin Goodman and Reba Walkup Goodman in Collinsville, Texas. He married Sylvia Dunnam Goodman on June 12, 1964, in Whitesboro, Texas.
Robert attended all twelve years of school at Collinsville, Texas and graduated from Austin College in Sherman, Texas in 1964. He was a Captain in the U. S. Air Force and worked in the Budget Department. Bob was an instructor/captain for Officer Training School. He worked at Folger’s in Sherman for over 20 years and loved working with/on computers. He was a deacon at Downtown Church of Christ in Victoria, Texas, and at North Union Street Church of Christ in Whitesboro, and was an elder at Collinsville Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Goodman of Collinsville; son, Jeff Goodman and wife, Jenny of Collinsville; daughter, Shannon Roberts and husband, Russell of Collinsville; Granddaughter, Rachel and Chad Lorenz of Ft. Hood, Texas and Great Grandson, Parker Lorenz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Reba Goodman. The family would like to recognize a wonderful and special friend that was so kind to Bob, Ricky Carter of Louisiana.
