January 10, 1928 –  June 29, 2008  SHERWOOD SHORES â?? Funeral services for Robert â??Bobâ? Gene Hill, 80, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, with Jeremy Parham of Victory Hospice officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Grayson County, Texas. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the funeral home.
Mr. Hill passed away at his home in Sherwood Shores, Texas on June 29, 2008.

Bob was born on January 10, 1928 in Leonard, Texas to Carl and Mable May (Knowles) Hill. He was in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. Bob enjoyed fishing from sunup to sundown every day that he was able to fish. He was the best handy man ever and he loved to go dancing with his sweetheart, Dee. Bob never missed a Texas Rangers ballgame on television and he was also a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his children, Rebecca Sparks of Arlington, Texas and Jimmy Gene Hill of Saganaw, Texas; grandchildren, Matt Sparks of Norman, Oklahoma, Kelly Hill of Tempe, Arizona and Daniel Sparks of Austin, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Jaynes and husband William of Sherwood Shores, Texas; niece, Margaret Story of Eustace, Texas; nephew, Carl Garmon of Rowlett, Texas; great niece, Angela Dooley of Eustace, Texas and his sweetheart Dee Delarosa of Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Hill and Mable Hill Smith, a brother, Roy Joe â??Jackâ? Hill and a baby sister.
