January 24, 1941 –  February 3, 2018  WHITESBORO – Funeral Services for Robert Earnest “Speedy” Davis, Jr., 77, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at Gordonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.Speedy passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
He was born on January 24, 1941 in Dallas, Texas to Robert, Sr. and Tennie Lorene (Kerr) Davis. Speedy married D’Ann Womack on April 18, 1960 in Gordonville. He was a commercial fisherman, dairy farmer and beef cattle rancher. He and his father owned fish markets in Dallas, Fort Worth and Oklahoma City. Speedy had been battling Parkinson’s Disease for the past 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, D’Ann Davis of Whitesboro; two sons, Bobby Davis and wife, Pat of Whitesboro and Randy Davis of Whitesboro; a daughter, Deana Mrusek and husband, Mark of Whitesboro; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Lorene Davis; and a son, Rodney Davis.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Robby Davis, Darrin Davis, Cody Davis, Mark Mrusek, Jr., Zach Mrusek, and Eddie Womack.
