Funeral Services for Rickey Oliver Stevens, 48, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009 at the funeral home.
Rickey passed away on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009 at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 23, 1961 in McKinney to Billy Clay and Joyce (Spurgin) Stevens. Rickey graduated from Celina High School and was presently working at M&S Cabinets
in Whitesboro. He was of the Baptist faith and was a friend to all. Rickey dearly loved Nascar and football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Celina Bobcats.
Survivors include a son, Gene Clay Stevens of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a daughter, Jina Ann Graham of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 grandsons, Chance Clay Stevens and Ryder Allen Stevens; his parents, Bill and Joyce Stevens of Sherwood Shores; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Stevens; and grandparents, Oliver and Cora Stevens, and John and Pearl Spurgin.
Pallbearers are Ricky Carey, Adam Carey, Mike Ross, Mike Whisenant, Justin Whisenant and Shane Whisenant.
