July 22, 1936 –  November 6, 2011  GORDONVILLE â?? Funeral services for Richard Williams, 75, will be held Friday, November 11, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow the service at Gordonville Cemetery. Family visitation will be Thursday, November 10, from 6 â?? 8 p.m. at the Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.He passed away on November 6, 2011 in Sherman, Texas.
Theron Richard Williams was born on July 22, 1936 to Theron Shelby and Myrtle Ollyne (Hicks) Williams in Rockwall, Texas. He married Barbra Greer on October 15, 1954 in Dallas, Texas. He worked in the food industry as a manager. He was in the Air National Guard for eight years. He had been a member of the community for 20 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro. He loved attending the Tuesday morning Bible study and also his 6 a.m. on Monday Bible study with long-time friend, Hank Lovejoy. He enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing. He loved driving around the country and going to old cemeteries. He loved history. Richard enjoyed life and was a people person. He loved his church. At night he loved for Barbra to read to him, but it put him to sleep within ten minutes.
He is survived by his wife, Barbra Williams; his sons: Randy Dale Williams of Gordonville, TX; Bruce Shelby Williams and wife, Kelly, of Frisco, TX; and Darrin Keith Williams and wife, Kelly, of Sache, TX; his sister, Olivia Ann Riley of Gordonville, TX; nine grandchildren; his niece, Catrina Guiro of Collinsville, TX; and his nephew, Michael Cleveland of Sulpher Springs, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theron and Ollyne Williams; his son, Terry Richard Williams; and his sister, Donnell Williams.
