April 30, 1936 –  February 18, 2009  GORDONVILLE- Funeral services for Raymond â??Rayâ? Bruce Stewart, 72, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Sherwood Shores Baptist Church with Rev. Wendyl Glenn officiating. Interment will follow in Dixie Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. There will be no formal visitation.
Mr. Stewart passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at the Veterans Medical Center in Dallas.

Ray was born on April 30, 1936 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Paul and Nellie (Milsap) Stewart. He served in the Untied States Air Force and he married Billie Hastings Murphy on April 14, 1967 in Ft. Worth. Ray worked and retired from Weber Aircraft after 20 years of service as an expeditor. He has lived in the Gordonville area for 10 years and was a member of the Sherwood Shores Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Stewart of Gordonville; sons, Raymond Allen Stewart of Gordonville, Philip Murphy of Gordonville, Steven Murphy of San Antonio, Michael Murphy of Pineville, LA, Robert Murphy of Galveston; a daughter, Karen Shears of Gordonville, 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nellie Stewart and step-father, Don Bailey.
