January 15, 1924 –  January 7, 2018  Funeral Services for Ralph Roland Maglaughlin, 93, of Whitesboro, will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Meador Funeral Home chapel, Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Jerry Davis and Ricky Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Collinsville, Cemetery. Family visitation will be held Tuesday, January 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ralph passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital with his loving family by his side.Ralph was born to John and Jewel (Hall) Maglaughlin on January 15, 1924 in Tioga, Texas. He married Arleen Starling on December 20, 1945 in Swansboro, North Carolina. Ralph was a Staff Sargent in the Marine Corp serving during World War II from September 1942 to March 1946. After leaving the military, he received his Master’s in Education and worked as a Vocational Agriculture teacher in Muenster, Spearman and Collinsville. He also served as the Vocational Counselor for Gainesville ISD. Ralph was a farmer and cattleman who enjoyed riding his horses and trail riding. Ralph was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Elliott and husband, Randy of Sadler; son-in-law, Randy Thomas of Collinsville; sister, Peggy Jo Melvin and husband, Harold of Laurel, Mississippi; grandchildren, Amanda Tyler, Leslie Hunt, Patrick Sapp, Angela Reynolds and Mark Elliott; he has 11 great-grandchildren.

Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Arleen; parents, John and Jewel Maglaughlin; sister, Johnnie Louise Robinson; 2 brothers, Phillip Maglaughlin and Gene Maglaughlin; grandson, James Brookshire, and daughter, Wanda Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Derek Kays, Ricky Patterson, Chico Light, Larry Bice, Patrick Sapp, and Kevin Hale.
