August 14, 1930 –  April 18, 2010  WHITESBORO – Funeral Services for R.L. Huffhines, 79, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Leon Wallace and Rev. John A. Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.R.L. passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.
He was born on August 14, 1930 in Red Branch, Texas to Royce and Nora Bell (Lane) Huffhines. R.L. was a farmer and rancher. He married Hazel Lucille McCormick on June 24, 1952 in Sherman. They lived in Pilot Point for many years before retiring to Whitesboro in 1997. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Huffhines of Whitesboro; 2 sons, Tony Huffhines and wife, Debra of Whitesboro, and Stan Huffhines and wife, Lori of Mabank; a brother, Royce Huffhines, Jr. of Whitesboro; 2 sisters, Malva Aycock of Dallas, and Parthenia Lemmons of Gainesville; 3 grandchildren, Emily, Maddox and Abby Huffhines.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Ouita Baker and Fredna Boswell Clark.
