September 24, 1922 –  May 14, 2008  Beloved wife of Edwin C. Swales, dear sister of Loretta Fowler Fason, adored mother of Pamela Jones Speed, Cameo Fowler Jones (and her husband Ron Tremblay) and Janice Jones Gibson (and her husband Michael M. Gibson) and four stepchildren, much-loved â??Granâ??momieâ? to Jeff, Missy, Corey, Max, Grace and Morgan and great-grandmother to three little girls.
Born in Sadler, Texas on September 24, 1922, Norma had a challenging childhood due to her parentsâ?? early deaths, but she was close to her six brothers and sisters. Norma moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico as a young adult and was the devoted â??fosterâ? daughter of her minister, Pete Trone, and his wife, Sara.

Norma moved back to Texas in 1959 and was a resident of Fort Worth for almost 50 years. She worked as a contract administrator for the U.S. Department of Defense and retired in 1985. Norma was a long-time member of Matthews Memorial Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Norma breathed her last breath on May 14, 2008. God and family were the most important matters in Normaâ??s life; her family will miss her, but they know she is with our Lord.

Services will be held at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, TX, at 2 pm Saturday, May 17, 2008. Interment will follow at the Sadler Cemetery, where Norma will join her parents Harry and Lillie Estelle Shires Fowler.
