October 31, 1932 – September 13, 2012 Funeral services for Nannie Mary Idell (79), of Gainesville, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 17th at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel, with Rev. Duke Dowling, Pastor of Southside Baptist Church and Rev. Hubert Wright, Baptist Minister officiating. Rev. Tony Norman will officiate when Mrs. Idell is interred at Callisburg Cemetery following the funeral service. Grandsons, Keith Thurman, Greg Thurman, Kevin Thurman, Jay Puckett, Jr., Aaron Puckett and Jeremy Clark will serve as pallbearers. Honorary bearers will be Ethan Thurman, Jason Clark and Danny Scivally. Visitation will be 9:00 – 10:00 Monday morning prior to the service.
Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Idell passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center. She was born October 31, 1932 to Joe Jasper and Lucy Ruth (Crowsey) Cox in Collinsville, Texas. Mary married Rufus Idell June 3, 1954 in Gainesville. She was an employee of Weber Aircraft for over sixteen years and had also worked for Linda Jo Shoe Factory and a dress factory in Muenster. She loved working outside in her flower garden and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Idell was a member of Mt .Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Nannie Mary Idell is survived by her husband, Rufus Idell of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Louis Hacker of Whitesboro and Wanda and Mike Thurman of Callisburg; sisters, Jessie Merle Hodge of Sherman and Eula Lee Johnson of Collinsville; brother, Jasper Cox of Denison; grandchildren, Christi Clark of Gainesville, Melody Links of Gainesville, Keith Thurman of Golden, Colorado, Greg Thurman of Gainesville, Kevin Thurman of Callisburg, Susan Gibson of Little Elm, Jay Puckett, Jr., of Whitesboro and Aaron Puckett and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary Ruth Puckett and a son, Billy Rufus Idell.
