September 10, 1928 –  March 7, 2013  WHITESBORO ? Funeral services for Myrna Carter, 84, will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas. Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 10, from 5-6 p.m. at the funeral home.She passed away at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ on March 7, 2013.
Myrna was born on September 10, 1928 to Albert and Lydia (Estes) Mitchell. She married C. W. Carter on July 18, 1991 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro, Texas. She enjoyed the outdoors, nature and gardening. She loved listening to gospel music and was an excellent cook. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Whitesboro. She also volunteered at the nursing home in Abilene and later in Whitesboro for several years. She worked with Alcoholics Anonymous and was a lifelong supporter of St. Jude?s Childrens Hospital, as well as numerous charitable organizations. She was a very giving person, always willing to help out others.
She is survived by her husband, C. W. Carter, of Whitesboro, TX; step-son, Robert Carter and wife, Rebecca, of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren: Lorri Kitchens and husband, Lance; Jeff Tyson; and Kevin Tyson and wife, Hollie; step-grandchild, Robin Grieg and husband, Tom; sister, Louise Pinson; great grandchildren: Ashley Kitchens, Gavin Kitchens, Chloe Tyson, Sophia Tyson, Emma Greig and Ian Greig.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Lydia Mitchell; and her daughter, Carol Bradley.
The pallbearers will be Jeff Tyson, Kevin Tyson, Robert Carter, Malcom Tyson, Lance Kitchens, and Frank Harber.
