October 16, 1937 –  August 24, 2014  Minerva Jane Barnett, 76, of Gainesville died August 24, 2014 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center. She was born October 16, 1937 in Decatur, Texas to Wayne G. and Thelma (Wilson) Locke. Jane married Billy F. Barnett June 6, 1964 . She graduated with a BA of Education from North Texas State University and taught school for the Dallas Independent School District. Jane was a member of Commerce Street Church of Christ and enjoyed her church. She also enjoyed being with friends, reading and taking care of her cat.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Barnett will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with Jay Culpepper officiating. She will be laying in state at the funeral home Tuesday, September 2nd. No visitation is planned. Services are under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Jane Barnett is survived by a son, Greg Barnett and wife Teri of San Antonio; sister, Pat Knee of Dallas; grandchildren, Gage Barnett and Chase Barnett and nephew, Jack Jason Andrews and wife, Emily. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy F. Barnett and parents, Wayne and Thelma Locke.
