November 28, 1928 –  March 1, 2007  COLLINSVILLE â?? Funeral Services for Mildred Irene (Ingram) Landers, 78, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 4, 2007, at the Collinsville Church of Christ with Ricky Patterson and Olden Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Collinsville Cemetery directed by Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Landers passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.

She was born on November 28, 1928, in Cooke County, Texas to Orbie Cooper and Velma Lee (Crutsinger) Ingram. Her extraordinary life held many accomplishments. Mildred married Clay Landers on December 20, 1947, in Cooke County, Texas. She was a longtime member of the Collinsville Church of Christ where she served as a Bible Class Teacher for over 50 years. Mildred was Valedictorian of Collinsville High School in 1946. She held a Bachelorâ??s Degree from North Texas State University and a Masterâ??s Degree from Texas Womenâ??s University. She taught school in Whitesboro, S & S, Gunter, and Collinsville schools for a total of 33 years. Mildred was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the West Grayson County Retired Teachers Assn. She served as an Ombudsman at the Collinsville Care Center, was a Junior Director for Chapter #17538 of the Modern Woodmen of America, and was a â??Telling Our Storiesâ? award winner at Austin College. Mildred was a past Woman of the Year for the Pettijohn Springs Ladies’ Retreat, authored four cookbooks, and was an excellent cook and hostess. She also served as an officer for the Grayson County Home Economists. Mildred will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Survivors include a son, Mark Landers and wife Deborah of Hutto; two daughters, Cladene Belcher and husband Danny of Whitesboro and Xina Davison and husband Jim of Collinsville; two sisters, Helen Taylor of Collinsville and Mary Jean McElreath of Muenster; five grandchildren, Clint Davison of Sherman, Rhett Davison of Collinsville, Trevor Landers of Round Rock, Suzanna Landers of Georgetown and Alyson Desha of Georgetown; three great-grandchildren, Walker Davison of Gainesville and Caroline Desha and Michaela Desha of Georgetown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Landers in 1990 and her parents.

Pallbearers are: Bob Stone, David Davenport, Casey Jones, Cotton Waldron, Bob Davis, Tommy Blackburn and Ralph Burton.
