May 18, 1926 –  March 18, 2015  COLLINSVILLE – Funeral services for Merzon Culpepper, 88, will be held Sunday, March 22, 2015, at 3 p.m., at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Ricky Patterson officiating. Interment will follow the services at Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.He died on March 18, 2015, at Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Merzon was born on May 18, 1926 in Collinsville, Texas to James M. and Lorena (Ivy) Culpepper. He married Florence Carney on August 21, 1943. He worked for Dallas Plumbing Company before he opened his own, Culpepper Plumbing in Dallas. Merzon and Flossie retired in their 40’s and moved back to Collinsville. They enjoyed traveling as well as taking hunting and fishing trips. Merzon was a member of the American Legion and an active member of the “Good Timers Club.” He loved to dance.
He is survived by his daughter, Camelia Rose and husband, Dickey, of Duncanville; son, Bil Culpepper, and wife, Kay, of Trinity; granddaughters: Lorri Stangl and her husband, Arthur, of Duncanville; Robin Eakins, and husband, James, of Grand Prairie; great-grandson, Jake Stangl, of Grand Prairie; great great-grandson, Braden, of Mansfield; brother, Jerry Culpepper and wife, Jenny, of Denison; sisters: Martha Sue Hanning of Denison; Dorthy Worsham of Collinsville; Sandra Plummer and husband, Melvin, of Farmers Branch; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Culpepper; parents, James and Lorena Culpepper; and brothers: Steve Culpepper and James Edward Culpepper.
