April 24, 1927 –  May 14, 2010  WHITESBORO- Funeral Services for Melton Ramsey, 83, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating and Mr. Hank Lovejoy assisting. Interment will follow at Morrow Cemetery near Muenster, Texas. Family visitation will be from 6 P.M. until 7 P.M. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the funeral home.
Mr. Ramsey passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 at Medical City of Dallas surrounded by his family.

Melton was born at Mount Hope Community in Cooke County, Texas on April 24, 1927 to Vincent Morrow and Jessie Pearl (Reeves) Ramsey. He married Melba Duncan on March 16, 1947 in Saint Jo, Texas. Melton served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Whitesboro with his family in 1963, at that time he became of member of First Baptist Church in Whitesboro. Melton loved to work and enjoyed tinkering with anything he could take apart and put back together. He enjoyed playing dominoes each day with his friends, and taking annual vacations to Arkansas. He greatest joys in life were his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Melba Ramsey of Whitesboro; two sons, Ricky Ramsey and wife, Judy of Bridgeport and Redgy Ramsey and wife, Wynell of Whitesboro; a brother, Roy Ramsey and wife, Queva of Arlington, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robby Wayne Ramsey; 4 sisters and 1 brother.

Pallbearers are: Eddie Vidrine, Mickie Lester, Aaron Heffley, Bryan Newman, Justin Whisenant and Jeff Morris.
