November 4, 1927 –  July 21, 2010  SHERMAN – On July 21, 2010, the kindest and most positive person we know went to Heaven to be with her Savior and family. She will be greatly missed. Graveside Services for Mary Katherine Thompson, 82, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro with Rev. Leon Veazy officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
She was born on Nov. 4, 1927 in Sherman to Rude R. and Mary Edna (Foreman) Stout. She married William F. Thompson, Jr. in Sherman. She was the former owner of Dub’s Bargain Store in Whitesboro. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Whitesboro and the Order of The Eastern Star. She loved to crochet.

Survivors include son, Doyle Thompson and wife, Brenda of Whitewright; daughter, Susan Bowley of Sherman; son, Ray Thompson and wife, Jane of Houston; 6 grandchildren, Amy Bowley of McKinney, Jeff Thompson and wife, Camille of Whitesboro, Laura Thompson of Houston, Brian Bowley of Whitesboro, Shawna Koerner and husband, Joe of Collinsville, and Heather Thompson of Whiteswright; 3 great-grandchildren, Kyler, Bryce and Brant; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rude and Edna Stout; husband, William F. Thompson, Jr.; a daughter, Mary Jo Thompson; and a brother, Col. Kenneth Stout.
