February 18, 1941 –  June 29, 2012  GAINESVILLE â?? Mary Jean Henderson Goode was born to Marion and Mary (Howard) Henderson on February 18, 1941 near Sandusky, Texas. She was born again of the water and the Spirit December 24, 1956 (Acts 2:38). She went to sleep on June 29, 2012. Funeral services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home at 401 Hwy. 377 North, Whitesboro, Texas, with Bro. Melvin Jackson of Ft. Worth Holiness Church of Jesus Christ and Bro. Marlin Harp and Jerry Billings of Whitesboro Holiness Church of Jesus Christ. She married Glenn Goode on July 5, 1957 in Gainesville, Texas, at the Church of Jesus Christ. They were married six days shy of 55 years. She was a chartered member of the Holiness Church of Jesus Christ of 316 S. Jordan St., Whitesboro, Texas. She was a wonderful homemaker, loved to cook, and enjoyed spoiling her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and going to church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn Goode (The Fiberglass Man); sons: Darin Goode of Krum; Jay Goode of Sherman; Duane Goode of Leonard; daughters: Glenda Steed of Gainesville; and Lisa Bloom and husband, Ryan, of Sanger; sister, Louise Farmer of Whitesboro; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be at Meador Funeral Home on Monday, July 2, from 6-8 p.m. for family visitation. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Goode was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Mary Henderson; brothers, Charles Henderson and Lindy Ray Henderson.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Brad Steed, Cory Goode, Derek Goode and Dylan Goode; and nephews: Micheal Farmer, and Brent Goode.
