December 30, 1919 –  September 14, 2015  GORDONVILLE – Graveside Services for Mary Elizabeth Francis, 95, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 at the Okmulgee Cemetery in Okmulgee, Oklahoma with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.Mary passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015 at the Crawford St. Place in Denison.
She was born on Dec. 30, 1919 in Hastings, Oklahoma to J.L. and Vera (Reynolds) Pfeffer. She married David C. Francis on June 21, 1942 in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Wilson, Oklahoma for over 60 years. She loved to sing in the church choir and in quartets. She was the Oklahoma Volunteer of the Year for the RSVP program. She visited the homebound and those in nursing homes, teaching them their Sunday School lessons. She loved volunteering.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Judy and Jim Wood of Gordonville; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister in law, Maxie Pfeffer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David C. Francis; 2 sons, David M. Francis and Timothy C. Francis; a brother, J.R. Pfeffer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org or the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
