September 3, 1932 –  April 20, 2009  PLANO â?? Funeral services for Martha Lou Pence, 76, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 24, 2009 with Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Sadler Cemetery, Sadler, Texas. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. There will not be a scheduled visitation.
Martha passed away on April 20, 2009 at Medical Center of Plano.

Martha was born on September 3, 1932 in DeLeon, to George and Willie Myrtis (Henderson) Brown. She married Gordon Pence on January 29, 1955 in Smithville.
Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a very generous and kind person who loved to travel with friends and family and was a true blue Texas Rangers fan. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon Pence of Plano; two sons, Shannon Pence and wife Dena of Plano and Brian Pence of Austin; a grandson, Steven Pence of Plano and a granddaughter Haley Pence of Plano, many family members and friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, George and Myrtis Brown, brothers, James Brown and George F. Brown and a sister, Wanda Brown.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsonâ??s Research.
