November 19, 1933 –  September 1, 2017  Hood resident, Lawana Ruth Peyrot, 83 passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Cooke County, Texas on November 19, 1933, to Lillian Cleo and Lilly Mildred (Dotson) Graves. Lawana married B.T. Peyrot November 23, 1951 in Mountain Springs, Texas. She was a homemaker and faithful member of Central Baptist Church.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3rd at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Robby Peyrot officiating, assisted by Rev. Eddie Johnson. A visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Grandsons, Bart Smith, Kurt Smith, Waylon Peyrot, Joshua Peyrot, Chase Peyrot and Newly Peyrot will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of over sixty-five years, B.T. Peyrot of Hood; sons and daughters-in-law, Ezelle and Vickie Peyrot of Callisburg, Nicky and Kathy Peyrot of Kingston, Arkansas and Robby and Leann Peyrot of Thackerville, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law, Dayna and Charles Smith of Gainesville; brother, Jerry Graves of Mountain Springs; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Lawana was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lela Salmon and brother, Darnell Graves.
